WOOD BURNING FIREPLACE CONVERSION TO GAS INSERT
DO YOU HAVE AN OLD, INEFFICIENT WOOD BURNING FIREPLACE?
A GAS FIREPLACE INSERT COULD BE YOUR ANSWER.
Imagine sitting in your big cozy chair, flipping on the tv and sipping a cup of hot chocolate on a cold winters night. Only thing missing is a fire. But wait, you don’t want to spend the time or energy hauling dry wood in and getting a fire going, and you absolutely do not want to deal with those messy ashes. Now, image pressing a single button to spark up a fire and take that cold chill out of the air. This is exactly what a Gas Fireplace Insert would allow you to do! It’s time to do away with that old inefficient wood burning fireplace and have Colony Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning install an efficient gas insert!
What is a Gas Insert?
Basically, it’s a firebox that fits inside a pre-existing wood burning fireplace. We’ll fill the void between the new firebox and your existing stone or brick with a custom surround to give it an appearance of an original fireplace. Today’s Gas Inserts are heat-producing, highly efficient and low maintenance. These units use 2 small flues that go up your existing chimney; one intake and one outtake. This eliminates the fireplace pulling air from inside your home. Finally, we cap it off at the top of the chimney and you’re all set!
Gas Inserts come with a variety of options.
- You are able to choose your interior liner (or your backdrop)
- The interior media (log style or crushed glass)
- Some have options of face-plates
- Others have options of remote controls including thermostat remotes
- Blowers are included
